Lakelands Public Health provides free Sexual Health Services in Peterborough, the City of Kawartha Lakes, County of Haliburton and Northumberland County. Access free condoms, low-cost birth control and STI testing and assessments, and vaccinations through our Sexual Health Services program.

Appointments are required, as walk-ins are not currently available.

Unfortunately, Public Health does not offer gender-affirming healthcare (GAH) services through our Sexual Health Clinics (hormone therapy and injections, surgery referral, etc). Your primary care provider can provide GAH or referral to an OHIP-covered practitioner who does. Unattached trans and gender-diverse patients in the County or City of Peterborough can access healthcare services through the PFHT Connect Clinic. Trent and Fleming students can access care through their campus health services.

Mpox - is a virus caused by the Monkeypox virus (MPXV), typically transmitted from animals to humans or person-to-person through skin-to-skin contact, that causes a disease with symptoms similar to, but less severe than, smallpox.

pflag Canada – Organization offers resources and peer-to-peer support for families and loved ones of 2SLGBTQ+ people. A listing of local pflag Chapters is also available.

Rainbow Health Ontario – A listing of 2SLGBTQ+ affirming health and social service providers in Ontario.

Rainbow Youth – PARN – Program works to make 2SLGBTQ+ youth feel safe, included, and empowered in Haliburton, Northumberland, Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough.
