About the Injury Profile Dashboard

The Injury Profile Dashboard presents the number and rate of emergency department visits and hospitalizations for injuries. The overall injury burden, leading causes of injuries (top 5), and injuries by selected causes, and can be filtered to select a specific sex, age-group, geography of residence, and/or year, where applicable. 

By default, the data are presented for the areas served by Lakelands Public Health but can be filtered to the County of Haliburton, the City of Kawartha Lakes, the City and County of Peterborough and Northumberland County (where applicable).

The Injury Profile Dashboard is updated annually, when data is available.

1. Click/select a report button located across the top of the dashboard to view different content.

2.  Selected the desired filter from the corresponding drop-down list(s) to view specific or filtered data.

3. To see larger visuals:

Dashboards are best viewed on a desktop screen. Hover over the visual you want to enlarge. A small box will appear in the top right corner labeled 'Focus Mode'. Click on this box to enter full screen. To return, click the 'Back to Report' button at the top left.

3. To View Graphs in Table Format:

Right-click anywhere on the graph you are interested in and select 'Show as a Table'. To go back, click the 'Back to Report' button at the top left of the page.

4. Use Tooltips for More Information:

Hover over a visual to see additional information in a tooltip.

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR District Health Unit) Injury Profile Dashboard provides injury-related emergency department data from the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System and injury-related hospitalization data from the Discharge Abstract Database. Further information on these data sources can be found here: NACRSDAD

Injury categories, inclusion criteria and methodology may differ between this dashboard and other publicly available dashboards. Comparisons with other sources should not be made.
