School and Educator Resources

Fostering a healthy and supportive environment within schools is essential for the well-being and success of students, staff, and their families. Lakelands Public Health collaborates closely with school boards and educators to champion the health, safety, and overall well-being of the entire school community. The dedicated School Team —made up of public health nurses, health promoters, registered dietitians, and administrative assistants— works together to provide comprehensive support.

We use a healthy schools approach to help address the needs of children, youth, and families. A Healthy Schools Approach is outlined in the Foundations of a Healthy School Framework and globally is known as the "Health Promoting Schools Approach". On this page, you'll find resources for use at your school and in your classrooms. For more information on specific topics, visit our School-Aged Children and Youth webpage.
