    As a member of the Community Health Division, the Public Health Nurse is accountable for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of specified programs as per the Ontario Public Health Standards and relevant guidelines and protocols. The Public Health Nurse uses a comprehensive health promotion approach to reduce health inequities of families and children. By adopting the public health core competencies and using knowledge of the social determinants of health, population health, and evidence-based practice, the public health nurse works to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Public Health Inspector, Temporary, full-time (up to March 26, 2027)

    As a member of the Environmental Health & Infectious Diseases Division, the Public Health Inspector is accountable to Environmental Health & Infectious Diseases Management for the implementation of the assigned Requirements of the Environmental Health Program Standards of the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) 2018 and related legislation and protocols including but not limited to the:

    The Tobacco Student Test Shopper is accountable to Environmental Health and Infectious Diseases Management for assisting the Tobacco Control Officers during tobacco vendor enforcement checks/inspections in accordance with the Tobacco, Vapour and Smoke Protocol, 2018.

  • Associate Medical Officer of Health

    Lakelands Public Health is seeking a positive, engaging, and forward-thinking Associate Medical Officer of Health (AMOH) to join its senior leadership team, providing both medical and organizational leadership. Reporting to the Medical Officer of Health & CEO (MOH/CEO), the AMOH will offer leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary public health team for assigned programs  and strategic projects, that protect and promote the health and well-being of residents in the Cities of Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, Northumberland, and Peterborough Counties, and Alderville, Curve Lake, and Hiawatha First Nations.
