Student Nutrition Programs Make a Difference in the City and County of Peterborough

Students arrive at school hungry for many reasons: skipped breakfasts, rushed mornings, long bus rides, and sometimes, not enough food at home. Students with access to nourishing food at school are better able to concentrate in class, miss less school, and achieve higher academic scores. Most schools in Peterborough and County offer free food at school. Depending on the school, programs may be a sit-down meal before the bell, bins of food that go into each classroom, or a grab-and-go table in a central location. ALL students are welcome! |

100% of donations are spent on nutrition programs.

Contact your local school or call Food for Kids at 705-743-1000. A variety of time commitments and tasks are needed, including shopping, preparing and serving food, and picking up food.
